About Me

Hi! I'm Elijah Braswell.

I am 24 years old and I have lived in Valley Park my entire life. I am running for Ward 4 Alderman because I am deeply invested in making this city I call home a better place. My interest in local politics began at age 17 with highschool speech and debate; this pushed me to begin attending Valley Park Board of Alderman meetings, which I have been regularly attending the past few years. I have worked locally at UniGroup in Fenton. I received my associates from Meramec Community College and I am currently attending the University of Missouri–St. Louis. In May, I will be graduating with a BA in history.

Why vote for me?

Valley Park’s current Board of Aldermen are experienced and professional, but there is a need for a newer, younger, contemporary voice amongst them. The board needs someone who is tech-savvy and can pave a new, modernized path for the residents of Valley Park. I hope that as a young person I can also aid in increasing youth engagement to allow our city to continue to thrive well into the next generations. I believe I am the person for this position and I know I am more than capable of giving the proper weight and care to this responsibility.
